Gazete Van: A News Portal Built Around Districts
A publishing platform for Gazete Van, organised around district sections and a business directory, that keeps up with high-traffic days without slowing the editorial team down.
Problem
Gazete Van needed a platform organised the way Van itself is, by district, not a generic blog with one flat article list. Editors also ran a local business directory alongside the news, and the previous setup kept the two apart with no shared search or navigation.
Traffic spiked hard around breaking local news, and editors needed to publish and update quickly during those spikes without the site slowing down or the editor interface lagging behind.
Solution
We structured the portal around district sections, so a reader in a given district sees local stories and directory listings together. Page and query caching keep the site responsive during traffic spikes, and the editor interface stays lightweight so publishing during breaking news is not the bottleneck.
- District-based article sections and navigation
- Integrated local business directory
- Caching layer for high-traffic days
- Editor tooling built for fast turnaround during breaking news
Result
Gazete Van publishes district-organised news and directory listings from one platform, and stays responsive through the traffic spikes that follow breaking local stories.
